Ileini Hirt

Duluth, 10th grade
2025-2026 Trailblazer Fellow

Ileini’s bold dream is to advocate for those around her in a positive, loving, and knowledgeable way. Ileini will use the Trailblazer Fellowship to launch her own podcast, which will focus on mental health experiences, understanding, advocacy, and supportive resources.

She has played hockey since the age of 6 and has also played softball and lacrosse. Since 2023, Ileini has been a passionate Youth Advocate for Mental Health through the U.S. Center for Mental Health and Sport.

After experiencing mental health struggles, she’s made it one of her highest aspirations to make sure that everyone is included, supported, and no one is alone! Ileini genuinely understands what it’s like and strives to make everyone feel heard, understood, and loved.

When asked about what advice she would give younger self, Ileini said “Don't be afraid to stand out. Yes, you are different, but not only that, you are also beautiful, talented, intelligent, and you can do anything you put your mind to! Don't be afraid to ask for help, you are not alone and there are people who love you and are by your side. Keep fighting for what's right, embrace your differences and the diversity, keep being you and don't ever let anyone stop you or shame you for doing what you believe in and what you love.”
