Reymie Keenan
Reymie dreams of breaking into the male-dominated fields of architecture and engineering. They are working for an associate’s degree during high school to set them apart. Reymie will use the Trailblazer Fellowship to take summer classes to finish their associate’s degree in Spring 2026.
Reymie recently won state in wrestling, a male-dominated sport. They are constantly pushing themselves and others to do the hard thing even when it is scary. Their first grant was put towards a hockey camp, and while the sport has been pushed mostly to the side to pursue wrestling, the coachability and work ethic they gained transfers to every aspect. Between four sports, five clubs, six college classes plus three high school ones, Reymie's schedule is packed to the brim, but they save time for important things: reading books and hanging out with people who value them.
When asked to offer advice for their future self, Reymie said "Little me needed the person I am today. Now I make the effort to show kids like me everything I wish I saw. I wish my younger self to know that you find so much joy in being you. It is so good to be the big, tall, chubby cheeked, queer, smart, weird person, as long as that person is you."
