Volunteer Opportunities

We offer a wide variety of opportunities to volunteer in our office and at ABF events throughout the year. Whether you are interested in volunteering every now and again, or want to volunteer with us on a regular basis (weekly? monthly? you decide!), we have an opportunity for you.

Alumnae Organizing

Even though our grants are one-time, that's not the end of our relationship with our grant alumnae. If you have received a grant from ABF in the past, we have exclusive alumnae opportunities for you. As an alumna, you are uniquely positioned to help ABF connect with other alumnae so that we are able to continue sharing resources for girls. 

Blogging

We love to share stories about the importance of our work. As a blogger, you would help us craft posts to share with our supporters.

Data Entry

Twice a year, we accept grant application for review. Many of those applications come in by mail, and you would help enter them into our database. 

Event Support

Throughout the year, we host and attend a variety of events. Event Support volunteers help us prep, set up, run, and tear down whenever they are able to give their time. 

Fundraising

Do you like to raise funds to support issues that are important to you?  Do you have friends, family or colleagues who you think would support ABF if only they knew more?  We can work with  you to raise awareness and funds – let us know what you are thinking!

Graphic Design

Part of our marketing strategy includes presenting a strong image to the community. Throughout the year, we have a number of events and notices we need design work done for. 

Office Support

We offer a variety of opportunities to help us out in our office. Throughout the year, we send out large mailing, make thank-you calls, check in with activity providers, and more. This behind-the-scenes access to our life in the office gives you first hand experience of what it's like to work at ABF!

Outreach Ambassador

The best part about our work is hearing the stories of the girls who receive our grants. We want to hear more of them, especially from girls in Greater Minnesota.  Help us spread the word into more communities all over the state.

Photographer/Videographer

Help us capture the special moments at our events with our supporters, alumnae, and volunteers. 

Story Writing/Interviewing Alumnae

After undergoing an evaluation of our work in 2016, we are now dedicated to annually measuring the impact of our grants through surveying and interviewing grantees and mentors. This opportunity includes calling grant recipients, talking to them about their grant experience, and writing short stories on the girls you interview.
